Camp Sugarbugs
Camp Sugarbugs is weekend family camp located in Goodlettsville, Tennessee at the Jackson Conference Center. The Jackson Conference Center and grounds are very versatile. The center includes the main lodge for dining and meetings, lodging for up to 200 campers, and recreation which includes swimming, fishing, hiking, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and crafts. If you just want to relax during your free time you can pull up a rocking chair on the front porch of the lodge and read a good book or enjoy the view of the lake. We feel our camp is unique in many ways. In most camps, the children are for a period of time to be on their own for several days. At Camp Sugarbugs, we require at least one parent to stay with their child for the overnight camp. We have found that parents need support too. While the children are busy with our many activities, the parents have time to network and meet other parents who are also raising children with diabetes. All other siblings in the family are also invited. This program benefits children with diabetes and other chronic illnesses. We need community funding for this event. We would appreciate any help in securing funding.
